Staff Pages

These drawings are drafts to begin the discussion of needs & ideas at the Steering committee on Sept 11. They are not to be shared or discussed with the public or the students.  

The intent is to have an open area on the public side of the first floor (sometimes referred to as a commons) to serve as a study and work area, collaborative space and some individual space too. The library staff is to draw up the needs as we see them for our patrons and our services desk & instructional work.  How many group rooms to build, where?  Where should films be? Where will reference collection go?  What size lab (32-35?) Shelving space of print books--what's happening with those?

My thoughts have also turned to how much furniture should be mobile versus stationary? I started looking at library collaborative furniture--see the last box with some links to products, in case it helps gets you thinking.

We might better meet on Wed, Aug 30, after the mass of the holy spirit and the picnic to continue this discussion and  develop a list of programmatic needs.
