How to Use This Guide
This guide was created to help you begin to find map & data resources that can support you in your GIS course.
Keep in mind that there are thousands of places to find geospatial data on the web. This guide will point you to some of the biggest collections of this data. Please use the green menu options on the left side of the guide to help you find the GIS data & maps that are most relevant to your topic.
Here are a few great general resources to get started with:
GIS&T Body of Knowledge (from the University Consortium of GIS)
QGIS User Guide (This is the user guide for the geographical information system (GIS) software QGIS)
QGIS Training Manual (This is the training manual for the GIS software QGIS)
Syracuse University Libraries provides this helpful description of the types of GIS Data that are available.
