The library's collection of online resources is available from on or off campus 24/7. In addition, our resources within the building are available during all the hours the library is open.
The stacks will be accessible to patrons when the library is open. We are asking that all touched items, including books and periodicals, be placed on the yellow shelves available at the end of each row of bookstacks. This will ensure that Library staff can quarantine materials before they are returned to the shelves. Patrons are also able to request items through our paging & pickup to be pulled and held for pickup at the Library Services Desk.
The library staff has worked hard this summer to make our collection of online resources more easily searchable from our website. We have created finding aids to help our patrons search specifically for e-books, journal articles, and streaming films. In addition, our subject guides are a great place to go for more online (and print!) resources on specific subject areas.
Access to Print Collection
Students who fully remote this semester and don't live in the Syracuse area can request access resources within our print collection by emailing the library at email@example.com. The library will do our best to make arrangements to accommodate requests. You can also reach out to the library using the email address provided if you are having difficulties returning borrowed materials.
The library's collection of reserves, including print books, anatomy models, and DVD's are available for checkout at the Library Services Desk, with the following limitations:
- We will clean all materials with hard plastic surfaces with disinfectant cleaner upon their return (such as anatomy models).
- We are, however, unable to sanitize our print materials. It is also not practical to quarantine these reserve books due to high and frequent use.
- In the case of print materials we are asking patrons to wash their hands before and after use and to not touch their face while using the item.
- In addition, to limit contact time with these materials, patrons are welcome to use the scanner available in the library or download a scanning app on their phone to copy the needed pages.
Paging & Pickup
Paging & pickup is a new service implemented for the fall 2020 semester. Le Moyne students, faculty, and staff can request materials through our catalog. Library staff will pull those materials and hold them at the Library Services Desk for pickup. For more information, please see our Paging & pickup guide.
InterLibrary Loan / Connect NY
Connect NY has resume leading and borrowing. Please note that while the Connect NY consortium has resumed operations, not all Connect NY member institutions have resumed borrowing and lending so materials from some libraries will be unavailable for the time being. Materials can be requested through the Connect NY catalog.
InterLibrary Loan (ILL) has resumed operations. Materials can be requested through the InterLibrary Loan request forms.
Please see the InterLibrary Loan page for more information on Connect NY and ILL.
